The Big Question…
WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC? AND IS CHIROPRACTIC RIGHT FOR YOU?
Chiropractic is a complementary form of healthcare that involves addressing issues with nervous, muscular, and skeletal system from a conservative and drug-free approach.
Chiropractic is safe for people of all ages, and has many applications, including...
• General achiness and stiffness of the neck and low back
• Shoulder and hip pain, along with other extremities (ankles, elbows, knees, wrists)
• Rehabilitation and supportive care following an injury or trauma
• Preventative care, keeping you moving better and more comfortably
Other Questions…
HOW DOES CHIROPRACTIC WORK? AND WHAT IS A CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT?
Chiropractic is a safe and hands-on approach to addressing joints that aren’t moving well, which degenerate over time. Through the chiropractic adjustment, we gently mobilize and help restore normal motion to that joint. The adjustment assists your body to move more freely and without pain or discomfort.
WHY SHOULD I SEE A CHIROPRACTOR? I’M NOT IN PAIN.
Think again! Joint dysfunction is a precursor to pain and symptoms, so just because you aren’t experiencing pain doesn’t mean you’re in the clear. Regular assessment of your biomechanics and your nervous system are essential to help detect, and prevent pain, while maintaining proper joint health.
WHAT’S THE CRACKING OR POPPING NOISE I HEAR WHEN ADJUSTED?
Your joints contain a fluid that helps nourish them and reduce friction. When a joint becomes stuck or fixated, it requires an adjustment to restore proper range of motion. The popping noise during the adjustment is merely small air bubbles within this fluid being released in your joint capsules.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO NOTICE IMPROVEMENTS?
Response to treatment is all dependent on the patient. Some patients notice immediate improvements in function and overall discomfort, while some patients take a few more treatments. Acute injuries tend to respond faster to care, while chronic complaints may take some time to improve.
